It's that time again for some football!!!

Each year it happens. Some have gone far enough to call it the "Holy War". It is rivalary weekend for college football. On Saturday, 11-22-08, was the big football game between the University of Utah and BYU. Much was at stake for Utah since it meant both a conference championship and BCS bowl bid. Fortunately, things went in favor for Utah this year.
With every big rivalry game, the spirit of the games is contagious and spreads to the neighborhoods. In the spirit of the games, I wanted my neighbor to show his support of the Utes. He claims to be a BYU fan but my goal is to bring out the inner Ute inside of him. Below is short video where I am helping my neighbor show his Ute spirit.

Here's some shots of the finished product. Nicholas and I were being sneaky as we placed the sign in our neighbor's yard.

If you ask me, I think the yard ornament made a great addition to my neighbor's yard. Of course one good deed deserves another. Here's the lawn ornament Kirwin did for me.

Winter Fast Approaches

Winter is approaching fast. I am working a few hours a week to try and finish off projects before the snow. Lets see, sprinklers are drained but need to be blown out still. The patio furniture should also be covered but I still holding out for fall a little longer. I guess I better come to reality and finish winterizing. I even planeted some lavender and some geraniums this weekend. I find it strange to plant things only to look foreward to it this spring.

Sports Report - Lame Sports Edition

MLB segment starts at 3:11 (like the band) so go there and you'll understand the rest of my blog better. It has been a very depressing time after watching the Angels get knocked out in 4 games. However, this video at the end makes it clear that regardless of Boston or Angels in round 2, no one has a chance against the Rays without the help of Jesus.

Pumpkins, OH MY!!!

I got to spend part of Sunday cutting out the bottoms of plastic pumpkins. With the help of Nicholas, we were able to place the pumpkins on the outdoor lights. Now we are ready for Halloween.
Everybody sing, "Green, green ghost, come out and socialize..."

10/2/08

I am currently starting the Cub Scouts with Nicholas. Hopefully we will get a camping trip before it starts getting cold over here. Of course we won't be dressed in our Sunday's best like the picture. I am also swamped at work. But being busy in this crazy economy is always a good thing.
